One of the longest rivers in the world (the 12th in fact), the Mekong is truly a wonder in the ever changing scenery as you travel between the wetlands of one of its tributaries, Tonle Sap, down into the famous Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon. The whole region is rife with stories of ancient cultures and strife that have affected this critical trade route for centuries until recent times.
On our journey you will visit temples, palaces, fishing villages and sites of great historical significance. Among other fascinating sites, you will witness the famed Killing Fields and the monument to the thousands of people massacred by the Khmer Rouge - an important reminder of how fragile this region has been in history. |
